Rules of the Auction
Live Auction Rules
- Live Auctions will continue until all items have been auctioned.
- All bidders must have a valid bid number, located on the back of each catalog.
- To bid, the bidder holds up his/her catalog showing the number on the back to the auctioneer.
- Decisions of the auctioneer shall be final.
Silent Auction Rules
There are three silent auctions, each with its own closing time.
- To bid, write your bid number and amount in the column on the
bid sheets located in front of that item. An item number and
description will be at the top of each sheet to alleviate confusion.
- Each bid must meet or exceed the previous bid by the minimum
raise increment indicated on each sheet to constitute a valid bid.
Failure to adhere to this rule will nullify the bid and will revert to
the previous bidder listed.
- It is each bidders responsibility to monitor the bid sheets to check on the status of each item on which they may be bidding.
- The highest valid bid at the conclusion/close of each silent auction will constitute a winning bid.
- All sheets must be posted in the computer before the sheets will
be available for public viewing. Please allow thirty minutes for
processing of silent auction bidding sheets (DO NOT REMOVE ANY BID SHEET
FROM ITS LOCATION).
General Auction Rules
- The buyer, at his/her expense must arrange for removal of items
at the end of the event unless arrangements are made with and agreed to
by the auction committee chairman.
- Winning bidder of trips must
contact the donor to make arrangements for accommodations, unless stated
in the contract. Trips or services are valid for one year unless
otherwise noted.
- Where coordination with the donor is required to obtain an item
purchased, it is the responsibility of the winning bidder to contract
the donor. Contact with the donor must be within 90 days of the
auction. A contact number for the donor will be given at the time the
item is purchased.
- Should a winning bidder fail, for whatever cause, to arrange a
trip, meal, party, etc. within the specified time limit and according to
any stated conditions and/or limitations, neither the donor, Rosary
School, HASA or St. Francis of Assisi Parish is obligated to provide a refund.
- All auction items are sold “AS IS” without expressed or limited
guarantees or warranties, except those which may be supplied by the
donor or manufacturer.
- Please refer to the specified rules for each auction category to determine how to make your bids.
- Each bidder MUST have a valid bid number.
- Gift certificates, unless otherwise stated, do not include taxes or gratuities.
- All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds. All trips
purchased will be taken as described without modification, unless
arrangements are made with donor.
- Purchaser must present a PAID receipt when picking up items at each auction display area.
- The Auction Committee reserves the right to withdraw any item before or during the auction.
- Neither
the Auction Committee, Rosary School, HASA or St. Francis of Assisi Parish shall
be liable for personal injury on the premises where the auction is being
held or during the removal of any items by the buyer or representative.
- DISCLAIMER:
Any similarity between descriptions in this catalog and items actually
present in the auction is not only coincidental, it is a miracle. The
Auction Committee published this catalog with some items “pending” but not
always “in hand.” We hope the material herein continues to be
accurate. We will post or announce major discrepancies during the
evening.
- In the unlikely event of a tie, a drawing will be held between the bids by the Auction Committee.
- In
the event that any alcoholic items are presented for auction or as part
of an auction item, they must not under any circumstances be opened on
the premises.
- Some
Silent and Live Auction items may have minimum bids posted or
announced. Should any item not receive the required minimum bid, it
will be returned to the donor or retained by the Auction Committee for
alternative sale on behalf of Rosary School.

Do’s of Attending a Rosary Auction Fundraiser
Do come and have a wonderful time.
Please drink responsibly and plan for a designated driver. If you
should need transportation home, we can assist you with that.
Do take a tax deduction
on any item you may have donated. Don’t forget that you cannot take a
tax deduction unless you pay over retail value for an item (known values
are indicated on the sales receipt).
Do bring cash. While auction items may be paid for by check or credit card, you will need cash for bar donations.
Do remember this auction is a fund raiser. Everyone
loves a bargain, but that is not our purpose. Our purpose is to raise
money to help support our students attending Rosary School. Please be generous!
Do check your items to ensure the items you’ve purchased are the ones you take home- everyone can make mistakes including our auction volunteers.
Do check for expiration dates
on any and all items you purchase! Remember, if you purchase an event
that requires date-scheduling, contact the donor as soon as possible to
make arrangements.
Do keep in mind that you are responsible for removing all of your purchases when the auction closes.
Do have FUN! While
this is our school’s biggest annual fund raiser, it is also a great
chance to get together with old friends and make new ones. Enjoy fine
food, drink and dancing. Celebrate this wonderful Parish and School
that so richly blesses us all.
